Thirsty

New painting!

Did this one today. They're just thirsty plants gearing up for some hectic photosynthesis.

This one is just for scale.

fuck everyone

This is a study that will lead into more studies then maybe a series.

The background consists of pages from old school erotica novels. Hence the pun in the title:

"Fuck everyone"

The title is intended to be a pun.

This work is about 40cm X 50cm. It is Acryllic paints, ink and collage.

It is an extension of an earlier painting done in varnishes on wood:

I like this one better because the varnishes dried so fast that the colours can't mix. I do like my primaries. This one is also textured with modelling compound in the orange area.

I also liked the watercolour's over paper, without the gessoed white:

"To Russia.... With Lust"

so in conclusion I think the next work of this series will be the primary varnishes on a pure collaged background, with a novel title.

Transcendece

"Transcenence", Oil on Canvas, 50 cm X 80 cm, 2011

This is my piece coming up for AFY's "Transcendence" show at the Art House hotel (Sydney CBD) at on Monday 14th of November.

Its about the way the need for 'transcendece' of human pain and suffering is acheived via the things we find pleasurable: food, sex, meditation.

They are all a means towards finding a connection between body and mind, but unfortunately, it is a part of the human condition to fail to acheive absolute transcendece.

Transcendence is the force that propells life: it is the cause of relationships, prayer, self preservation and orgasm, but it is a simalcurum.

Transcendence is but one aspect of the never ending cycle of life (transcendence) and death (decendence)
